The recent Women’s Health and Wellness Symposium to raise funds and awareness for The Women’s Health Initiative, founded by Lyn Hogrefe of the Happy Hormone Cottage, was a day filled with plenty of extremely valuable information. I enjoyed each and every speaker who presented during this symposium. I especially want to thank Dr Anthony Piana, President of the Professional Academy of Clinical Thermology (PACT), for his presentation. Each and every time I see and listen to Dr Piana, I learn something new about thermography. Thermography is a safe, adjunctive screening method helpful in the diagnosis and documentation of diseases. Medical Thermography maps physiological patterns indicating both normal health and diseases. Thermography is truly a life saving screening tool.
One example of how thermography can help save a life is that of one of my patients who came in for a routine screening. She didn’t expect to find anything, but was taking care of her health and doing it as a precaution. Unfortunately, that didn’t work out as well as either of us wanted. When her scan was interpreted, there was an area of concern that required immediate review. Dr Piana called her right away. Her thermography scan was the first of many follow-up tests. She immediately went for an MRI and had a biopsy performed. The area of concern was confirmed as Stage 2 breast cancer. These are words that no one wants to hear. Luckily, my patient was already immersed in being a warrior for her health and had many tools at her disposal with which to move forward in treating her cancer-both holisitically and within standard of care. After much research and care, she moved forward with her course of treatment in both realms and is doing monthly follow-up breast scans. The first scan showed that her course of treatments and her holistic wellness routine significantly decreased the size of her mass. She is continuing on with her therapy and we continue to look for improvement.
The word CANCER is never easy to hear, but when it is caught early, it is much easier to treat.
I get chills when I think about how this simple, no radiation, no contact screening tool can help so many. Please call me at 513-382-3132 to schedule your scan today. Thermography is truly life-saving!
